Proxy Settings

MoveOnBoot requires the Internet connection to provide the Live Update and Feedback facilities, so if the proxy should be used to connect to the Internet it should be configured on Proxy Settings preference page . To access this page click Preferences button from the Application Menu and select the appropriate link in the navigation bar on the left of the Preferences dialog.

On this page it is proposed to choose between three variants of proxy configuration to be used by the application. If Auto-detect proxy settings for this network is chosen, then the application uses the settings configuration in the underlying operating system. If MoveOnBoot should not use proxy to connect to the Internet Direct connection to the Internet option should be chosen. Manual proxy configuration options allows you to provide proxy server address and port manually.

For automatic detection and manual configuration it is possible to specify if the Proxy Server requires authentication and the credentials to be used to connect to the Proxy Server - for manual configuration NTLM authentication can be used (the connection to Proxy Server takes place using the credentials of the currently logged on user) by enabling Use NTLM authentication option.

When the proxy settings are configured it is possible to check the internet connection, using the corresponding hyperlink on the bottom of this preference page.
